Lanikai Beach - Aerial Shot

As you approach the island of Oahu from the mainland US, be sure to take a look out of the right side of the aircraft. If the weather is just right and the pilot is approaching from the east, you might get this same magnificent view of the Mokulua Islands (lower right) facing Lanikai (the neighborhood starts with the houses in the lower left). Lanikai Beach extends northwards, looping around the point (across from the island in the upper left-hand part of the image), where it joins with Kailua Beach.

The soft gleaming sands of Lanikai can be seen, along with the magnificent coral reefs that are only a few yards off of the shore.
